Our heartfelt thanks to the editors and team at Lazie Indie Magazine for this recognition, and to their founding editor Jay Pillai for spotlighting the vision and journey behind the InterContinental Music Awards.

This feature celebrates not only our mission. It also shares the extraordinary journey of our Founder and CEO, Shahed Mohseni Zonoozi. His life story has been shaped by resilience, creativity, and a belief in the power of music to unite cultures across the globe.

In the interview, Shahed shares:

His beginnings in Tehran. He performed from the age of four and later mastered the Santoor, laying the foundation for a lifetime in music.

The turning points that shaped him. From discovering composition on a simple CASIO keyboard to studying IT alongside music, blending creativity with structure.

His move to the Mediterranean and then Los Angeles. There, multicultural collaborations inspired the creation of the InterContinental Music Awards.

The challenges of immigration. He lost his financial safety net and had to start over from scratch in a new country, guided by resilience and what he calls “signs from the universe.”

Why ICMA is different from traditional awards. With over 150 categories, it celebrates authenticity, cultural significance, and the power to connect hearts across borders.

His vision for the future. Expanding into Latin America and Africa, mentoring more independent artists, and continuing to prove that music is the universal language of humanity.

It is an inspiring story of resilience, vision, and the belief that music can bridge divides and build community across the world.
