Thank you for being here, S.J. Jananiy! Your music has been receiving incredible recognition. How does it feel to be recognized globally for your work?

Thank you so much for having me! I am deeply grateful to the InterContinental Music Awards for their ongoing support. Being recognized globally is such an honor, and it encourages me to keep pushing the boundaries of my music. Every day is a new journey in this field, and I’m thrilled to see where it takes me.

Let’s talk about your Mantras album. It’s a unique fusion of ancient mantras and hip-hop. What inspired this innovative combination?

I was approached by a producer who is deeply inspired by the fusion of traditional Indian mantras and contemporary music. We started with the Gayatri Mantra, which holds a deep spiritual meaning. The Gayatri Mantra is about seeking accurate knowledge and transcending religious boundaries — it’s a universal message that I wanted to share with the world. After that, we expanded the project to include other mantras from Hinduism, such as the Parvati, Ganesh, and Shiva mantras. We also included Bee Chakra Mantras, which are healing frequencies. The whole process was liberating, allowing me to experiment freely with my vocals, improvisation, and blending diverse musical styles.

What was the creative process behind this album? Were there any challenges or special moments?

The creative process was very liberating! One of the most important aspects was the freedom to express myself. My producer, Anony Varara, gave me the freedom to experiment with my vocals, add improvisations, and incorporate traditional elements. We were careful about where to place the mantras and the choruses, and we really focused on creating a balance between the ancient and modern sounds. It was a blend of two worlds that came together beautifully. The challenging part was blending the traditional elements of the mantras with contemporary music, but it was also what made the album so exciting and fresh.

Your song I Am Flying High has received a lot of attention. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the song and its three-language release?

I Am Flying High is an anthem of inspiration. The inspiration behind the song comes from my spiritual journey, which has been the backbone of my career. My spiritual beliefs and practices shape not only my music but my entire life. The song speaks about being conscious of every action, whether it’s eating, drinking, or simply living. I wrote the lyrics based on my personal experiences and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. The song is available in three languages to reach a wider audience and share its message with as many people as possible.

Have you received any standout feedback about I Am Flying High?

Yes! I received a glowing review from Brand New Sounds magazine, which really made me proud. The review praised the song for blending spirituality with modern pop, creating a unique listening experience that transcends cultural boundaries. They mentioned that it’s a song not to be ignored, and that made me feel truly humbled and grateful. It’s always wonderful to know that your music resonates with people.

Your success is undeniable, and you’re constantly working on new projects. What can fans look forward to in the future?

There are so many exciting projects coming up! One of them is a motivational song that will spread positivity and encouragement. Another project is a religious song called Tiar, which praises the significance and glory of Lord Muruga from Tamil Nadu. I’m also working on a song that highlights the beauty and culture of Tamil Nadu. These are just a few of the many amazing things I’m working on, and I’m really excited to share them with my fans soon!

You’re always juggling multiple projects! What keeps you motivated to continue creating?

I’m always busy with new projects, and I love every moment of it. One of the most exciting things happening right now is that my spiritual song Tum Ko Ja was honored with the prestigious InterContinental Music Awards 2024, which means so much to me. It’s the third time I’ve received this honor, and I’m deeply grateful for it. I’m also thrilled about my collaboration on the soundtrack for the film Ry, which was released in July. The soundtrack, created in partnership with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, won six Clef Music Awards in India. There’s always something new and exciting to work on, and that’s what keeps me going!

You’ve achieved so much already! Is there anything else you’d like to share with your fans?

I just want to thank everyone for their support! I’m incredibly grateful for all the love and recognition my music has received. I’m excited about the future and can’t wait to continue sharing my journey with my fans. I also want to mention how much it means to me that my music has made an impact and connected with people around the world.
